Pet insurance helps you cover the cost of veterinary treatment if your pet falls ill or gets injured. To learn about pet insurance cover, what it’s there for and how it can help, read our guide to how pet insurance works. Pet insurance policies generally fall into 4 main categories:
Peace of mind lifetime cover
Our most comprehensive pet insurance seeks to insure against recurring medical issues your pet may have throughout its lifetime, as long as you keep the policy running.
Maximum benefit cover
Our maximum benefit pet insurance covers new conditions up to a cover limit for the length the policy is in place and there’s not a time limit to your claim.
Time-limited cover
Time-limited pet insurance excludes certain conditions after you hit your claims limit or once the time limit (usually 12 months) expires.
Essentials pet insurance
Our accident only pet insurance provides a fixed sum of money for each accidental injury to help pay for your pet’s treatment. It is the cheapest type of pet insurance policy but excludes cover for illness.
We offer 6 cover levels with protection from accident only through to our most comprehensive lifetime plans. Find out more about each of our plans below.

If you’ve got more than one pet in your household that you’re looking to insure, then we’ll give you a 10% discount when you add multiple pets to your quote.
We know that your pet is part of your family. That’s why included in any cover you take out with us you’ll have access to our 24/7 Careline. This gives you all day, every day access to speak online or over the phone with RCVS qualified vet nurses.
If the unfortunate situation arrives where you need to make a claim on your policy, we can assist by paying your claim fast and efficiently and often payments can be made directly to your vet. We paid 94% of all claims submitted in 2022.
It hasn’t always been easy to switch your pet cover, but we’re changing that. Most providers will impose a 14-day wait time for illnesses if you switch, but so long as you are an existing pet insurance holder when you switch to us, we won’t.
