At Scratch & Patch, we’re building a brand that celebrates the joy, chaos and everyday moments of life with dogs and cats.

We’re looking for a Lead Social Content Creator who lives and breathes social media and understands internet culture, humour, trends and viral formats.

This isn’t a traditional marketing role. If your brain naturally thinks in Reels, memes, hooks and punchlines, you’ll fit right in.

About the role

You’ll create engaging, scroll-stopping and shareable social content that builds the Scratch & Patch brand across platforms including:

  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • YouTube Shorts
  • TikTok

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you’ll turn everyday pet moments into content people tag friends in, share and come back for. This role suits someone who loves making content, spotting trends early and experimenting to see what works.

Your responsibilities

  • Creating engaging social posts, memes and short-form videos
  • Turning trends, pet moments and cultural events into content
  • Filming and editing short-form video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
  • Writing captions and hooks that stop people scrolling
  • Monitoring social trends and identifying reactive content opportunities
  • Managing and engaging with our social communities
  • Testing formats, hooks and ideas to learn what performs best

The best candidates live and breathe social media and understand how content spreads online.

A great social creator isn’t just creative — they know how to drive attention and engagement without burning the brand.

  • Creative Courage – Pushes beyond “safe” content into bold, scroll-stopping ideas and understands virality often comes from polarisation, not perfection.
  • Speed & Platform Instinct – Moves at the pace of culture, not approval chains. Thinks in formats, wins the first 1–3 seconds, and creates for the algorithm.
  • Experimental Mindset – Tests constantly, learns quickly and understands viral success is engineered through experimentation.
  • Data-Led Creativity – Uses performance data to sharpen instincts, spot patterns and quickly iterate or drop average ideas.
  • Cultural Awareness – Understands trends, memes and internet humour. Knows when to join a moment — and when not to.
  • Brand Instinct – Pushes boundaries without breaking trust and understands tone, timing and cultural context.

What you’ll bring

We care far more about creativity and social instinct than traditional qualifications.

You’ll likely have:

  • Experience managing or creating social content
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook and short-form video
  • Ability to film and edit video content
  • A natural instinct for internet humour and trends
  • Confidence bringing creative ideas to the table
  • The ability to spot trends before brands jump on them
  • Run or have grown your own social account
