  7. Meet Joanna & Phoebe

Joanna and Phoebe

Time to read: 8 mins

What made you get Phoebe in the first place?

I work remotely permanently and decided it would be nice to have some company.

How did you choose this breed?

Patterdales are very affectionate and friendly. They are also known for being really fit so she can come running and hillwalking with me.

What is the most rewarding thing you have found about owning a pet?

The constant entertainment

Have you encountered any problems (illnesses, behavioural, social) with Phoebe?

My parents’ dog is also a terrier which was a bit of a battle when they were first introduced.

What is your top tip for people thinking about adding a pet to their family?

Make sure you know the commitment you are signing up for – they take over your life!

Do you have any funny stories to share with us about Phoebe?

On her first weekend of being allowed out on walks she met a very friendly St Bernard on the beach – she was 2.5 kg and he was 60 kg so they were little and large! Phoebe did not quite know what to do in that situation.
